Rescuers were searching for two people missing after their plane crashed in waters near Hawaii, the U.S. Coast Guard said Tuesday night.
The two people -- a male pilot and a 49-year-old female tourist -- were last seen traveling on an "ultralight aircraft" that crashed in waters about 100 yards off the Hawaiian island of Kauai, the Coast Guard said.
A kayaker told authorities that the plane went down about 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Helicopters and boats have been deployed to help in the search.
